About FCI Bennettsville
The FCI Bennettsville opened its doors in 1902. In the 1980’s is when the camp opened. The camp houses its inmates in eight dormitories.
Bennettsville, South Carolina is home to FCI Bennettsville. The FCI Bennettsville is a medium security federal prison with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp. There is also a detention center for pretrial and holdover inmates within this facility.

Education
Educational programs such as GED, ESL and Adult basic education id provided for the inmates. Inmates who possess their GED have the privilege to participate in a variety of vocational training.
The FCI Bennettsville offers reentry programs so inmates may succeed once they are released from prison and reenter the community.

Sending a Mail/Care Package
Books, magazines and newspapers can be sent to the inmate directly from the publisher. Hardcover and used reading material is not allowed.
Inmates at FCI Bennettsville are only allowed to receive packages from home that contain release clothing and authorized medical devices. Before an inmate is allowed to receive a package sent from home they must have written approval from the inmate's authorized staff member at the prison.
All incoming and outgoing packages/mail is inspected by the institution’s staff. Any mail/packages that the inmate opens will also be opened in front of a staff member of the penitentiary.
Inmates are also allowed to receive letters in the mail from loved ones. The staff encourages family and friends to keep in touch with the inmate. Please do not send offensive or sexual material.

Phone calls
Inmates at FCI Bennettsville are allowed to make phone calls, however, not all inmates have the same telephone privileges due to each inmate’s restrictions.
The majority of the time the inmate is the one who is responsible to pay for the phone calls unless they are making a collect call.

Visitation
