Sending a Mail/Care Package

Looking to keep an inmate spirits up while they are in the Duplin County Detention Center? You can send them a letter. Inmate’s love receiving letters.

Letters can be sent to the Duplin County Detention Center. All incoming and even all outgoing mail will be examined by the Duplin County Detention Center prison staff.

You should know that you need to follow the mail guidelines to the letter. If you fail to follow the mail guidelines that is set forth for you, your mail will not reach the inmate and will be discarded or sent back to you.

Sending Money

Inmates, while they are in the Duplin County Detention Center, will need funds to purchase items from the commissary or to fund their phone account.

There will be two ways you will be able to deposit money into an inmate's account.

The first way is to go down to the Duplin County Detention Center. This will only work if you are local to the facility. You will need to have a money order in hand. The Duplin County Detention Center will not accept cash or checks.

The second way is to mail a money order to the Duplin County Detention Center, if you do not live in proximity.

Phone calls

The Duplin County Detention Center contracts with the CityTeleCoin for their phone service.

To ensure the inmate can call you, you will need to create an account. You will also need to put money on their phone account.

You will be responsible to keep funds in the phone account. If the account runs low or out of funds, the inmate will not be allowed to make any more phone calls home.

All calls from the Duplin County Detention Center will be limited to 15-minutes and the calls will be monitored and recorded.

Visitation

Live local to the Duplin County Detention Center? Want to visit an inmate in the Duplin County Detention Center? You can come on down Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 am to 6 pm. Visitation does not happen on Saturdays and Sundays.

Prior to visiting an inmate, you will need to have your government issued. If you are bringing a juvenile under the age of 16, you will need to accompany them for the duration of your visit. They will never be allowed to be left alone under circumstances. You need to be with your child the entire duration you are in the visiting area.
