Want another way to communicate with an inmate in the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center? You can write them letters!

You should always write an inmate a letter. It is a great morale booster. Inmates love to hear what you have been up to while they have been locked away.

Just always keep everything family-friendly. The inmate will not be the only eyes reading what you have to say. The Ulster County Law Enforcement Center has the right to dispose of any and all mail that does not follow their mailing guidelines.

To get the most up to date mailing guidelines, you will need to contact the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center directly.

Sending Money

Inmates may ask you to send them money. They are not asking you to send them money for them to blow it on whatever their hearts desire. They are asking for this money, so they can purchase items they will need from the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center commissary.

If you live local, it is easy to deposit funds into their account. You can bring down a money order to the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center with the inmate’s name on it and they will be able to deposit it there for you. The funds should be officially deposited into the inmate’s account within a day or two.

Phone calls

The Ulster County Law Enforcement Center recognizes that inmates need a solid support system on the outside. So, when they get off the facility, they have a great support system to come home to, so they will likely not offend in the future.

Therefore, the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center allows inmates to use the telephones daily. The only time they cannot use the telephones during the facilities count time or when the facility is under lockdown.

Inmates will be permitted to make collect calls home. These calls can last up to 15-minutes in length.
