The Essex County Women in Transition is a medium-security detention center located in Salisbury, Massachusetts that is operated locally by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office. Essex County Sheriff was sworn into office on January 1, 2017.

Visitation

Visitation at Essex County Women in Transition is a privilege, not a right.

The TouDouze Video Visitation Center is located at 197 Elm Street, Salisbury, MA, 01952 (two blocks south from the Main Jail).

  • Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM- 4:00 PM

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • To register, schedule, or cancel visits ONLY: Thursday and Friday: 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM

Information is also available at the Main Jail and Annex Front Lobbies. All public visits are at the Video Visitation Center. Inmates may receive (2) twenty-minute visits per week. Visitations must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance or up to one week in advance.

  • Registration and scheduling may also be completed at the Video Visitation Center on Thursday and Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
