Opened since 1996, East Moline Correctional Center, located in East Moline, is an all adult male prison that houses over 1446 offenders. This level V facility houses minimum, medium and closed custody inmates.

Currently, East Moline Correctional Center offers its inmates the chance to work in community service support roles including working for the Department of Transportation and other interagency services.

Inmates incarcerated at East Moline Correctional Center can take anger management, parenting, and financial planning classes, as well as participate in stress management and mental health counseling. Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are also available. Religious services and Bible studies are offered to all inmates as well.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Inmates are not allowed to receive mail in boxes, padded envelopes, plastic bags, multi-layer packaging, envelopes that include metal parts, any package containing bubble wrap or packing peanuts, or card stock type envelopes.

Sending Money

There are three different ways one can send money to those serving time in East Moline Correctional Center.

Lock Box

Lock Box will be the most cost-effective way to send money. There is no fee to use this service. This service provides a smaller hold time when sending money by personal check, money order, or using a cashier’s check.

EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)

The electronic funds transfer will be the fastest option out of the three. It will post the money on the inmates account within 72 hours. This option is a paid service.

Send Checks to the Prison

This service is completely free. However, out of the three services, this way will take the longest. All money going to the prison is subjected to a 30-day hold. You will need to make all checks and money orders out to the Illinois Department of Corrections and make sure you write the inmate’s number on the check.

Phone calls

Illinois prison inmates are not permitted to receive telephone calls. However, inmates may place collect calls to approved numbers.

When an inmate enters into East Moline Correctional Center, he or she will have an inmate telephone account established with a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and be provided with instructions for placing collect calls to family and friends. Inmate phone lists are limited to ten (10) numbers.

Inmates are authorized to initiate collect calls to personal landline numbers and personal cell phone numbers. Before an inmate is permitted to place a collect call, he or she must submit the telephone number, name, and address for verification and activation prior to being added to the inmate's approved call list

Visitation

The easiest and fastest way to set up a visitation appointment with an inmate is to sign up at Illinois Department of Corrections website. Before you sign up for a visiting appointment, you will need to make an account first.

Anyone who has filled out a visitor’s application and had it approved may visit their inmate. Visiting hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 3 pm. Registration for visitation begins at 8:15am and ends at 2 pm. if you arrive after 2 pm, you will not be able to visit.
