If you are not familiar, you will love to know that the Hernando County Detention Center used the VINELink service.
What is VINELink you may ask?
VINELink is a service that will update you in real-time on any new status updates on the inmate. So, for instance, if the inmate is going through their court process, you will get real-time updates when the inmates move, what the status of them are, etc.
You can get these real-time alerts through email, text messages, or phone calls. Your choice.
Sending a Mail/Care Package
Starting on November 12, 2018, the Hernando County Detention Center will not be accepting mail that is mailed to the facility's physical address. You will know how to go through the service Text Behind.
Text Behind is a service that you can access throughout your smartphone via an app or online on your computer.
Text Behind will electronically send messages to the Hernando County Detention Center where the staff members can print them out and give them to the inmate it is addressed to. This is a lot safer for everyone involved and it is a lot faster for inmates to receive your letters.
If you just do not want to send electronic messages, you can still send mail, but you will have to send it to the following address:
Inmate and ID number
Hernando County Detention Center
16425 Spring Hill Drive, Brooksville, FL, 34604
Keep in mind that the mail will be photocopied and then given to the inmate. The original copy of the letter will be destroyed after it is photocopied.
Refrain from sending cash, checks, or money orders. They will NOT be accepted through this way.
