These two entities work together to ensure the operation at the Johnson Youth Center is as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Inmates in the Johnson Youth Center are all over the age of 18. The inmates are both male and female. Inmates who have been sentenced to 2 years or less will actively stay in the facility along with inmates who are waiting for their trials to start.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Starting on November 12, 2018, the Johnson Youth Center will not be accepting mail that is mailed to the facility's physical address. You will know how to go through the service Text Behind.

Text Behind is a service that you can access throughout your smartphone via an app or online on your computer.

Text Behind will electronically send messages to the Johnson Youth Center where the staff members can print them out and give them to the inmate it is addressed to. This is a lot safer for everyone involved and it is a lot faster for inmates to receive your letters.

If you just do not want to send electronic messages, you can still send mail, but you will have to send it to the following address:

Inmate and ID number

Johnson Youth Center

3252 Hospital Drive, Juneau, AK, 99801

Keep in mind that the mail will be photocopied and then given to the inmate. The original copy of the letter will be destroyed after it is photocopied.

Refrain from sending cash, checks, or money orders. They will NOT be accepted through this way.

Sending Money
